Why Projections Are Estimates

Learn · How the tools & numbers work

Every projection tool — including BodEvo — is built on population-average models. The numbers are useful for planning, but they are not precise predictions for any individual.

Real outcomes vary because of programming quality, exercise selection, and consistency of effort. A person following a well-designed program with progressive overload will typically progress faster than someone training without structure, regardless of what the calculator suggests.

Individual metabolism, hormonal status, sleep quality, stress load, training history, and genetics all influence how the body responds to a given calorie intake or training stimulus. Two people can follow identical nutrition and training plans and produce meaningfully different results.

Adherence is one of the largest variables. A theoretical plan that works on a spreadsheet but cannot be followed consistently will always underperform a less optimal plan that is actually executed.

Use projections as planning benchmarks and directional guides. Track your actual results weekly using scale averages, body measurements, and strength data. If your real-world progress diverges significantly from projections over two to four weeks, revisit the inputs — calorie tracking accuracy, activity level selection, protein adherence, and sleep — before assuming the model is wrong.

In most cases where projections and reality diverge, one of three things is happening: calories are being undertracked, activity level is overestimated, or recovery quality (sleep, stress) is lower than assumed.
