Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Carter Hubble (“we”, “us”), the operator of BodEvo at bodevo.app. By using BodEvo you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use BodEvo.
1. What BodEvo is
BodEvo is an evidence-based body-composition planning tool: calculators and planners for calories, macros, bodyweight and strength projections, meals, dining options, supplements (educational information), and fitness gear. It is provided for personal, non-commercial use. Core tools are local-first — they run in your browser and work without an account. An optional account adds community features, voting, a synced daily tracker, and reminders (see the Privacy Policy).
2. Not medical advice
BodEvo is an educational tool, not a medical service. Nothing in the app — calculations, projections, food and supplement information, community content, or linked content — is medical advice, nutrition counseling, diagnosis, or treatment, and none of it replaces a qualified professional.
Consult a physician or registered dietitian before starting any diet, training, or supplement program, especially if you have a medical condition, take medication, are pregnant or nursing, or are under 18.
If you have — or suspect you may have — an eating disorder or a difficult relationship with food, calorie and body-composition tracking tools may not be appropriate for you. Please speak to a qualified professional; specialist helplines exist in most countries.
3. Estimates and data accuracy
- All calculations and projections are estimates built on published formulas and research (e.g. Mifflin-St Jeor, Katch-McArdle). Individual results vary; nothing is a guarantee.
- Nutrition data is labeled with its provenance (for example USDA-verified, product label, official restaurant data, or clearly-marked estimate). Where data is not verified, BodEvo says so. Always verify against the actual product label or the venue's official information — recipes, menus, and formulations change.
- Product prices, ratings, and availability shown in gear and supplement areas reflect the linked source at the time it was checked and can be out of date.
- Supplement entries are educational summaries, not recommendations to take anything.
4. Eligibility and accounts
- BodEvo is not directed at children under 13, and you must meet the minimum age described in the Privacy Policy to create an account.
- Keep your sign-in method secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- Provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
- You can stop using BodEvo at any time, export your data, delete local data, and request account deletion — all described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law, infringe others' rights, or post content you do not have the right to share
- Harass, threaten, or target other users; post hate, spam, or scams
- Post medical misinformation presented as fact, dangerous dieting techniques, eating-disorder promotion, or sourcing/instructions for prohibited substances
- Probe, overload, or disrupt the service; bypass security or moderation; scrape or bulk-harvest content or data; use others' credentials
- Misrepresent affiliation with BodEvo or impersonate anyone
- Use the service to build a competing dataset or to resell its data
6. Community content and moderation
- You own what you post. By submitting community content (questions, replies, comments, playlists, votes, song submissions), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, moderate, and distribute that content within the service, for as long as it remains on the service. Delete your content or your account and the license ends for future use.
- Submissions pass through moderation (automated rules, optional AI review, and human review) before or after they appear. We may hold, hide, edit-for-safety-labels, or remove any content and may restrict accounts that violate these terms or the posted community guidelines — especially for safety-sensitive topics.
- Community content is other people's opinion and experience — it is not our advice and section 2 applies to it fully.
- Report harmful content with the in-app report buttons; reports are reviewed.
7. PR Song Board
The PR Song Board is a metadata-only catalog: song titles, artists, and tags for ranking and discovery. BodEvo does not host, stream, or distribute music or lyrics. Links, where present, point to external platforms that license the content themselves. If you believe a listing infringes your rights, contact us (section 17 of the Privacy Policy or the Contact page) and we will review it promptly.
8. Affiliate links
Some product links are affiliate links, always labeled (for example “Search on Amazon”). They may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, BodEvo earns from qualifying purchases. Affiliate links never affect how products are ranked — ordering is driven by community votes and source-verified data, and every product card keeps a direct link to the product's own source page. Purchases you make on third-party sites are contracts between you and that site.
9. Third-party sites and data sources
BodEvo links to third-party sites (brand pages, retailers, YouTube, university dining pages) and shows data from public sources (for example USDA FoodData Central and OpenStreetMap). We do not control third-party sites, are not responsible for their content or practices, and a link is not an endorsement.
10. Intellectual property
The BodEvo name, app, design, and original content are protected by intellectual property rights and remain ours (or our licensors'). We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. Third-party trademarks (brands, retailers, schools, artists) belong to their owners; their appearance in BodEvo is nominative — it identifies real products, venues, and songs and implies no affiliation or endorsement.
11. Availability and changes to the service
BodEvo is actively developed and provided free of charge. Features may change, break, or be removed; the service may be interrupted or discontinued. Because the core tools are local-first, your plans stay in your browser and can always be exported (Settings → Your data) — we encourage keeping your own export of anything important.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
BodEvo is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement — to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data (including nutrition data and projections) is accurate or complete.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) BodEvo; and our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to £50 (or the equivalent in your currency) or, if greater, the amount you paid us to use BodEvo in the last 12 months (currently nothing).
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud — and nothing affects statutory consumer rights that apply where you live.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, create risk for other users, or abuse the service — with notice where practical. You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time. Sections that by their nature survive termination (2, 3, 6–13, 15–17) survive.
15. Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the effective date and version above change with them, and material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use BodEvo after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, USA (without regard to conflict-of-law rules), and its courts have jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer, you keep any protection and forum rights granted by the mandatory law of the country where you live.
17. General
- If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.
- You may not assign these terms; we may assign them as part of a transfer of the service, with notice.
- These terms plus the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the service.
