Plateaus and diet fatigue
Weight loss is not linear — water, sodium, hormones, and the menstrual cycle create noise. Judge progress on 1–2 week trends, not daily readings. If a true plateau lasts 2–3 weeks at consistent intake, slightly reduce calories or add activity. Periodic maintenance "diet breaks" can ease fatigue and improve adherence.
